Received a BS in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. and his MD from The Chicago Medical School. Additionally, Dr. del Castillo has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He did a Residency in General Surgery at Michael Reese Hospital/ University of Chicago and then trained in Emergency Medicine at Northwestern University. He began practicing Emergency Medicine in 1979 at Evanston Hospital (now Northshore University Healthsystem) in Evanston, IL . He served as Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program affiliated with Northwestern University Medical School for 12 years. In that role, he taught many residents and medical students. Subsequently, he assumed the position of Associate Director of the Division of Emergency Medicine at NorthShore until his retirement from that post in 2017. He was elected President of the Professional staff of Northshore University Healthsystem and served in that position for two years. He also served on the Board of Directors of Northshore and the Executive Committee of the Board of the NorthShore Medical Group He was also Chairman of the Risk Management and Quality Improvement committee, where the main charge was to deliberate over quality issues and potential malpractice cases. During 2018, Dr. del Castillo was the Chief Quality Officer for the entire Northshore system. For the past 35 years he has been an examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has also been an Item writer for the written examination. Currently, he is a Senior Examiner and Team Leader for the Oral Exam and was recently elected to an exclusive group of physicians to create and write a new recertification exam in Emergency Medicine. Academically, he held the position of Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine but abandoned that post when he stopped his work in the Emergency Department, He has authored many papers, book chapters and monographs and lectured locally and nationally in Emergency Medicine. He is also one of the founding partners of INSPE.
Received a BS in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Evansville and his MD from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed residency at the Resurrection Emergency Medicine Program in 2009 and has been practicing emergency medicine since. Currently, he practices at Northshore University Healthsystem. He joined INSPE in 2012 and is currently focused on the growth of the company. Recently, he has volunteered his time teaching emergency medicine residents and medical students. He has also given his time to ICEP for board review courses. His free time is spent with family.

He then co-founded Occupational Medicine Evanston/Glenbrook Associates and was Medical Director there for 20 years. In 2007, he became Medical Director of Health Promotion and Corporate Services and Medical Director of the Division of Public Safety Medicine at Northwestern Medical Group. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He is on the Board of Directors for the American College of Occupational Medicine (ACOEM), and is the founder and chair of the Public Safety Medicine Section for ACOEM. He is also the founder and chair of ACOEM’s Task Group that has created the Guidance for the Medical Evaluation of Law Enforcement Officers. He is a Principal Member of the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) 1500 Technical Committee on Fire Service Occupational Safety & Health, which is responsible for creating the medical standards for firefighters. Dr. Samo is also one of the founding partners of INSPE.
Received a BA in History and a BA in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed a combined Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine Residencies at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1996. Currently, he practices Emergency Medicine at Amita Resurrection and the Northshore system. He also serves as the Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Amita Resurrection Medical Center. He chairs the medical staff quality committee, and spends most of his time working clinically and in educating the Emergency Medicine residents. He joined INSPE in 2018, and likes to spend his free time with family, reading and golf.
